Best Pumpkin Patches near Ventura CA
From carving to baking to decorating, pumpkins provide a lot of seasonal fun on their own, but sometimes, the real fun is in the experience of visiting the pumpkin patch. Here are three of our favorite pumpkin patches in the Ventura area that are overflowing with festivities.
Big Wave Dave’s Pumpkin Patch
Big Wave Dave’s Pumpkin Patch takes place under the Big Tent, where you’ll find an assortment of pumpkins from mini to giant. In addition to finding the perfect pumpkin, you can slide down the giant Big Wave Sharky Slide, play an assortment of kids’ games, or bounce in one of the many bounce houses.
Don’t forget to stop by their shop where you can get the decorations you need to bring the harvest home with you, like corn stalks, hay bales, and ornamental gourds. You can also pick up a carving kit to help you get that perfect Jack-o-Lantern.
They’re open all day through October 31st at the Pacific View Mall, so check them out on Facebook for seasonal memes and photos from around the patch.
Prancer’s Pumpkin Patch
Prancer’s Village is well-known for its Christmas trees, but in the fall, it transforms into Prancer’s Pumpkin Patch, where you can go for a full day of autumnal fun. Sure, you can make it a quick trip as you stop by and pick out a pumpkin, but why would you want to when there’s so much to do?
They feature a hay maze, pony, horse, and donkey rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, hay rides, face painting, and a mechanical bull! Don’t forget to stop by the stage to enjoy the live music, too.
They’re open Monday through Sunday so visit them on Facebook for videos of the fun.
Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Olivelands Ranch
The Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Ranch is run by the Santa Paul Rotary and is the site of fall fun this October. Historically held at Faulkner Farm, this Ventura area tradition has been moved to Limoneira Olivelands Ranch, which is a fully operational avocado and citrus farm.
The star of the show this year is the 5-acre corn MaiZe. The MaiZe can provide entertainment spanning 30 minutes to hours depending on the paths you pick. There’s also live entertainment, face painting, a pumpkin chucker, and a petting zoo.
The Pumpkin Patch is open every Saturday and Sunday in October, so follow them on Facebook for updates on the MaiZe!
