Best Surf Shops in Ventura CA

Word on the street is that surf’s up in Ventura, California. Wait a second…this is California…the surf’s always up. That’s why we’ve created this comprehensive guide to some of the best surf shops around!

FCD Surfboards

The story of FCD Surfboards (which stands for Fletcher Chouinard Designs Surfboards) began over forty years ago. Since then, they’ve been perfecting their hands-on approach to surfboard design day in and day out. Not only are their boards handcrafted in the United States, but they’re made from resins and foams that will stand the test of time. Log onto their site to view their selection of shortboards, guns, and longboards. Then, if you’re still looking for more information, check ‘em out on Facebook soon.

Proctor Surfboards Worldwide Custom

The folks over at Proctor Surfboards have a mission – and that’s to build the board that’s right for you.

In order to do so, they’ve had to come up with a few guiding principles that’ll keep them right on track:

  • Daily interaction, innovation, and inspiration
  • No compromising on quality
  • Not making a scene…making a difference

Each board is custom matched to each surfer: the shape of their body, the type of waves that they’re surfing, and their abilities. If this sounds like the experience you’ve been craving, log onto their FB.

Ventura Surfshop

Last, but certainly not least, there’s Ventura Surfshop. They’re actually open seven days a week (9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Monday through Saturday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday). That’s totally gnarly, bro!

They’ve been operating since the early 1960’s, when they were started by Tom Hale. So, when it comes to solid fiberglass, cloth, resin, and laminated surfboards, you can rest assured that they’re the experts.

All in all, they carry over 300 new boards and over 200 used boards. See pictures of their selection here.
