Model Availability & Warranties
Land Rover and Jeep each have six models in their lineup, all with varying performances and features. However, Land Rover also offers two hybrid models: Range Rover PHEV and Range Rover Sport PHEV.
These plug-in hybrid vehicles come with a large 13kWh capacity battery. This results in an all-electric range of up to 31 miles with just a single charge and zero CO2tailpipe emissions.
Unfortunately, Jeep doesn’t offer any hybrid models. Plus, its regular models aren’t the most fuel efficient.
When it comes to coverage, you’ll get more in the Land Rover models. That’s because they come with:
- 4-Year/50,000-Mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty
- 6-Year/Unlimited-Mileage Corrosion Perforation Warranty
Jeep, meanwhile, has a limited warranty that covers you for just three years or 36,000 miles. Plus, its corrosion protection plan is only good for five years. As a result, Land Rover models may give you more peace of mind.
Both vehicles are known for their impressive off-roading capabilities. For instance, Land Rover has Terrain Response®. This lets you choose from seven different settings, based on the terrain that you’re currently traveling on. They include:
- Mud and Ruts
- Rock Crawl
Plus, the available Terrain Response® 2 feature will automatically select the appropriate setting, so you can drive with confidence.
Meanwhile, Jeep offers a Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System. However, it only has five settings, which you have to manually select.
Jeep vehicles have quite stylish interiors, with perforated leather seats, striking metal accents, and open pore wood interior inlays. Heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heating steering wheel are all available to keep you comfortable no matter the temperature outside.
However, Land Rover is a luxury brand, and that’s evident in its various features. The seats come in premium materials like Semi-Aniline leather, with soft foam interlayers that keep you relaxed on even the longest commutes. The front seats can be heated and ventilated, as well. However, they also offer a ‘Hot-Stone’ massage function, to work out the kinks after a long day.
These relaxing features in the Land Rover models extend to the back row. Not only can these seats be heated, but they can be ventilated, too. With the optional Executive Class Comfort, you can put your feet up and relax with the headrest pillows and ‘Hot-Stone’ massage. Plus, heated armrests, calf rest, and footrest are available, warming your entire body for an extremely luxurious environment.
Unfortunately, you won’t find those amenities inside any Jeep vehicle.
Land Rover vs Jeep: Verdict
While Jeep has an impressive lineup, Land Rover may be the right way to go. That’s because it has better coverage and more offerings in terms of performance and comfort.
