2020 Range Rover Velar vs Audi Q5
Stylish SUVs, like the Range Rover Velar and the Audi Q5, deliver fine luxury in a vehicle that’s capable of getting you through tough conditions and carrying lots of cargo. So, which one is right for you?
The team at Land Rover Ventura put together this 2020 Range Rover Velar vs. Audi Q5 comparison to help drivers in Ventura, Camarillo, and Oxnard decide.
2020 Range Rover Velar vs Audi Q5 Capability
The 2020 Range Rover Velar is a versatile luxury SUV with standard All Wheel Drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics. This capable system can manage torque evenly between the front and rear axles or determine which wheels need more traction and send 100% of the torque to them.
The 2020 Audi Q5 features its signature quattro® all-wheel drive with ultra® technology to shift between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive when conditions call for it. However, it isn’t able to transfer all the torque to the rear axle like the Range Rover Velar.
You’ll also be able to take your heaviest cargo with you when you hit the road in the Range Rover Velar. It has a towing capacity of up to 5,291 pounds. While the Audi Q5 is also very powerful, it may struggle to bring your trailer on your next road trip with its 4,400-pound towing capacity.
2020 Range Rover Velar vs Audi Q5 Cargo Room
Both luxury SUVs are designed to give you a comfortable ride in an upscale interior and provide you with the capability to carry all your cargo. The 2020 Range Rover Velar has two rows of seats and a roomy trunk with 34.4 cubic feet of cargo room.
There are lots of convenient options to accommodate more cargo, too. You can tie longer items, like a Christmas tree or a surfboard, to the roof rails, or fold down the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats. With the back row folded you’ll have up to 60.2 cubic feet of cargo room inside.
The 2020 Audi Q5 is also able to help you move lots of gear—just not as much of it. It also has two rows of seats with room for five people, but it only has 25.1 cubic feet of cargo room in the trunk. While you can still fold down the seats, its cargo capacity still falls short at just 53.1 cubic feet.
2020 Range Rover Velar vs Audi Q5 Technology
When you get behind the wheel of the 2020 Range Rover Velar, you’ll be surrounded by classic luxury and the latest technology. Directly in front of your steering wheel, there’s a 12.3-inch high-definition Interactive Driver Display serving as your instrument cluster.
Moving to your dashboard, you’ll find the two 10-inch Touchscreens of the Touch Pro™ Duo infotainment system. This voice-controlled system is Bluetooth® compatible and provides you with navigation and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio.
The 2020 Audi Q5 also has a 12.3-inch screen for your instrument cluster, but it only gives you one screen for your infotainment system. On top of that, it packs all your features into a smaller 7-inch screen.
